The Haiti earthquake scam worked so well they decided to repeat it with Nepal. I still have no idea who pocketed the money I donated, or what happened to the money the government matched. It pisses me off to this day that I could have been so stupid.

My husband and I avoid large charities that spend a high percentage of donations on overhead and salaries easter bunny..



This also applies to where we fellowship..



We avoid large multi-million dollar structures with bloated pastoral and church staff.

I mean that Bill & Hill's self-serving scam "Foundation" has paid about 10 - 15 cents out for every dollar that came in



And that's with 100s of millions coming in from unsavory cohorts and their countries around the world .... including a Canadian scammer "friend " who collected big time for them quite recently  ... then sold his company to Putin Inc.

That is very unfortunate, but also a reminder of why my husband and I generally avoid large charities..



We don't have unlimited resources, so we need to make sure we use what we have to give wisely.

good plan - I wish everyone checked out who they give to as most have terrible payout records



The size itself is not necessarily the most relevant factor - It's the "ethic" of the people running it and operational efficiency

I realize that - but it is a cruel world out there .. especially when one can live like kings on other's well-intended donations



Haiti was another Billary / Hillary scam that really went bad
